We Are Official Paranormal Experts

Dan & Kat stand with Mayor Stacy Link of Sykesville, MD after receiving their official Mayoral Proclamation

Dan and Kat Eckhart have been named Sykesville's Official Paranormal Experts by Mayor Stacy Link of Sykesville in a public proclamation on Sunday, September 17th. The proclamation recognizes the value of the Eckharts' work as paranormal investigators in the town of Sykesville and the surrounding region.

The Eckharts have been internationally recognized by outlets such as Yahoo News, Cosmopolitan UK, and others for their work within the paranormal world. As certified parapsychologists, the Eckharts have held multiple explorations into the historic buildings of Sykesville, and they have worked to create an enduring and popular Sykesville Ghost Tour.

"It was an honor to be recognized by the Mayor for our work within town, as well as the paranormal nature of Sykesville" said Dan Eckhart. "We love the stories of the town, from the sightings of the Sykesville Monster, to the Snallygaster; Sykesville is an unusually active place, and the more people share their stories, the more we can hope to unlock the secrets (if any) of the paranormal."

"Not everyone we speak with believes in ghosts or the paranormal... but everyone has a ghost story." Kat adds, "these stories are the folkloric tableau of the town, and it's important that we record them, and don't just write off the stories off as too strange to be part of the "normal" human experience."

The proclamation encourages townspeople to share their stories with each other, and will hopefully add to the spirit of the fall season.

The MAYORAL PROCLAMATION is as follows:

WHEREAS, the town of Sykesville, nestled in the heart of the Patapsco Valley, has a long and storied history dating back centuries; and
